I think you answered your problem,it sounds like your starving for gas, a quik test is to turn on tank valve and then hold a container under carb.open drain valve at bottom of bowl, if it dosn't flow well after at least a bowl full clean tank and carb. inlet screens, should run steady. Set needles as others posted. Idle screw does indeed enrichen by turning in.Also some times float needle sticks, tap on carb. with screwdriver handle, see if that changes, flow if so fix carb.Farmalls are good starters in sub.zero Mn., especially 12 volt conversions. guys this is getting long.
