If you put a voltage regulator on, you won't need to use the 4 position switch. If you have lights, just a separate switch will work for that. If you keep the cutout relay and don't have the 4 postion switch, you would just ground the wire that goes to the switch from the generator. However, if you do that, it will put the generator on full charge all the time and if you run the tractor much, you will have trouble with the battery overcharging. I forget the exact hookup, but as Cue says, take a look at the diagrams.
