Hyd oil getting very hot - why?

I have an IH364 diesel and after running it 45min-1hour the hyd. oil gets VERY hot. Also, once this happens, the lift still works and is smooth but it seems like you have to rev the tractor more for the lift to come up as fast as it did when the fluid was cold. What could cause this hot hydraulic fluid so quick?
