Mornin' I have a 4b mag that used to be a great two turns on the crank and shes a runnin' mag.
But since I worked on it I have to get the wife to give me a pull. Two feet and she pops right off. Little history. The mag in question had a broken lower mount. worked fine just a nasty looking weld holding it together. Well the other day I was at the machine shop in Stevenville and the ole boy had a rusted up old core laying under the bench. Fairly nasty but a good case. Well I ofered him 20 for it and he bit. So yesterday I took two and made one. Good clean up job aon the new case. Best I can tell it is all timed right.
All I used from the core was the case. Everything else from the old Hot mag. I still have good hot fire at the plugs. But turn and turn no start on the hand crank. Keep in mind it was all good before i FIXED it. Only thing I can figure is when I put the impulse coupling back together I did an improper preload on the spring. I alignened the spring in the slot and tensioned it untill the ears would engage. put on the lock nut and thats it. the springs on the dogs are there. and working. any tips. Oh and I timed the cam and rotor with the cam at nintey degres then the mark on the rotor pointing at the cam. tractor runs fine just got to pull it to start Please Help.
