Farmall BN Overheating

Drove BN yesterday and it was OK. Today drove it for about 1/2 hr. at high throttle and overheated and started to smoke out the exhaust. Shut if off right away. Did a compression check and all cylinders 100-105 psi. Antifreeze in radiator full and clean. Top hose was HOT and bulging. Bottom hose felt cool. I put some STP carb cleaner for gas in tank before running it today. Would that have any effect on running hot? Carb is set 1 1/4 turn off seat on Zenith. Thank you.
