We used to pull a 460 we once had after long periods of sitting. Our method was to not use the glow plugs, as the battery was always poor after these long rests. Instead pull it fairly fast for about 5 minutes, to warm up the cylinders, these engines are very slow to generate heat, by this time it should have some throttle and be smoking heavily with white smoke. Carefully inject some south wind into the air cleaner right in front of the driver, best here if the ether is very weak so as not to blow the head off this weakly built engine. As soon as it fires clutch it and crack the throttle, it should be running. I have a neighbour who uses ether constantly on a 606, since it was new but I am afraid of strong ether on these engines.
