My favorite M started blowing major blue smoke. A neighbor suggested that one or more rings may have failed and I would be wise to check the engine oil for gas content. When I drained the oil into an empty 5 gallon pail it overflowed! No wonder for the blue smoke the engine was full of oil and hydraulic fluid. I was in the habit of pre operation oil check by opening only the lower petcock. Had I opened both petcocks I might have figured out there was something amiss! Question is how hard is the front seal of an M &W distributor driven hydraulic pump to change? Any way I can screw it up? Thanks for any suggestions. Dick Davis
