Crankshaft Pulley

I am tearing down my Cub and I am having trouble getting off the crankshaft pulley. I don"t see anything retaining the pulley to the crankshft but it is not coming off with a puller. However I can see threads in the end of the crankshaft. I am affaid to apply too much pressure to the pulley for fear of breaking or bending it. Maybe some heat??
