Paul: If the tractor has provision for IPTO, the spline into presure plate and the seasonal disconect are in there. They are the part that will make a noise. They probably make more noise, not having the PTO unit as resistance. This noise will be more pronounced when tractor is at low idle. Also when you shut tractor down, most 300 will give a backward kick on engine, thus any looseness in PTO drive line will click. Probably heard this 100,000 times in my lifetime.
