I believe the slot on the mag drive will be exactly horizontal at #1 TDC. You can set it that way, if you can't find any marks. After intallinfg the mag, with the kill switch in the "OFF" position, verify that the mag impulse does not snap before TDC, before attempting to start it to prevent kick-back.
