Farmall Cub (proud new owner)

I ran accoss a cub I think its a 1950 model(didnt get all the serial #) I couldnt turn the deal down for the price. It had a woods belly mower under it and sheet metal in excellent shape and very good paint. The owner parked it outside without a rain cap on it so you know what happened. A friend mechanic of his had the head off and was going to work the head I guess but had not got to it. I will be getting the head back from him but I know I am going to need plenty of help from you guys here to get her running. I am still learning about these rascals as far as engine work. What is a good starting point on this tractor when I get her back to my place? Get head reworked and start putting oil on top of the cylinders? Sorry such a long post!
