Alot o them are bought by different cities and towns and are refurbished by the stae.Most of what the state does is clean it up,put a new set of tires on it ans a fresh coat of primer,mainly to cover the marking.Some of them are auctioned off ot the general public except all they do with those is paint over the state numbers.I am thinking about going to one of thoe auctions and seeing what they have.
