Grease it up first before you go pulling anything,it may just be a little froze up.Im guessing that it was going before your Grandpa passed away,sorry by the way.if that doesnt work,take it apart a little at a time to determine just where the binding is,can save you big bucks on parts.However if i had top take a stab at it Id say the thrust bearing or the Bushings have rusted up.
