The link doesn't work, so I can't see it, but yes, I have seen a Cummins in an M. I've also seen a Sheppard Diesel in an M. I've heard about Detroits in an M too. My understanding is that these were offered as aftermarket conversions in the '50's. One old-timer I know joked that it was the fastest way to turn an M into an H. The knock on them was that they didn't have as much power as the original gas engine, but they ran a lot cheaper because diesel is more efficient than gasoline, and in the '50's & '60's diesel was a lot cheaper per gallon than gas. At least that's what the guy who owns the M with the Sheppard told me.
