The Newport was not a bad car. I had it for 3 years. Had to do a oil pump, but that was cake on that car it was external.
The morpar I had a problem with in 1980 was a 77 Monico. A real POS it was in the shop the whole time we had it. Nothing worked right on that thing even the doors didnt close right. The windows didnt work, Would just conk out with no reason or warning and would not start till it had a trip to the dealer. Trunk lock opened but would not latch. ARG!!! 24 years and I am still mad about that.
They have made strides from those days. Have 2003 Caravan and love it.
