Yeah, it takes a lot of work, so why paint it? A job worth doing is a job worth doing right. I bought two tractors like that, knew it when I bought them, knew all the paint would have to be stripped, which it was. Personally, I would a lot rather have rust, which by the way I got -- under the paint. Beyond my understanding why anyone does a 50-50 paint job. Looks good from 50 feet while driving by at 50 mph. Most tractors at auction are like that. I'm never surprised though, seen too many of them.

Tractor Traction - by Chris Pratt. Our first bout with traction problems came when cultivatin with our Massey-Harris Pony. Up till then, this tractor had been running a corn grinder and pulling a trailer. It had new unfilled rear tires and no wheel weights.
