Differences in cumbustion tween Reg head and 20 he

My boy just bought a 29 Regular, and it hasnt got a good head. Hes wondering what the combustion would be like with a 20 head as it would allow for a greater area for combustion to take place, and would take more compression he thinks. Would it be harder to start that way or not?? Thanks
