They can be a bugger to get out. The tapered bolt that screws into the contol arm and then goes into the tapered hole in the spindle, will sometimes raise the metal slightly on the spindle, which prevents the spindle from coming out through the bushing. What you need to do is file that area carefully and then tap spindle out with some hard wood or brass.
