I had the same problem: There is a freeze plug on the left side of the water jacket, inside the bellhousing, behind the clutch assembly, that rusted through. They are made of steel, the rest of the block is cast. There is another plug on the right side for the bearing cap for the end of the camshaft. You could get a new freeze plug at an auto parts store, or make your own. I ended up sealing mine with silicone after I replaced it.
