I would only do this if they are half the money of the two 6's. My 966 fires after about three revolutions, sitting outside down to 15 degree F. Below that I use the indoor tractor. Those two 6 volt IHC batteries do just fine at that temp. Where do you plan on going to get to minus double digit temps? You may be embarking up the road to future problems in the other areas of your electrical system. IHC paid their engineers good salaries to design a good product. If it ain't broke , don't fix it!
