On our 350U, a 1957, (starting at the dist.) it runs parallel with the hyd. pipes then curves upward and dissappears under the fuel tank crossing about mid tank(as I recall), the cable then snakes up the left side of the tank rear corner (under the seam, I think) then connects to the tach. left sheetmetal off helps some.
