Another question on sa transmission

I want to change the trans fluid. What can I use to flush the case with to get all the old stuff out that wont harm the seals and gaskets?

Also it looks like there is 2 old crusty corks in the top back of the case. Are these supposed to be vents? Cant find anything in the book on them.

And finally, is there any way to prevent trans fluids from turning colors from moisture... additives?
