Paul - Take the box off and tear it apart. Replace the bronze bushings that hold the steering arms, and check the wear on the pin that slides back and forth in the sector groove. It'll likely be worn, and you can build it up with weld and machine it back to fit your groove. That SHOULD take 90% of the slop out of your unit. It will cost you some bucks for seals and gaskets, though.
