I agree with you, in that the cost vs. profit on this project has to be close to the break even point. I would hate to go out and buy two tractors to begin with, and then hire the work done to put them back together.
At least in this case the new owner has an unique tractor with some real useable value. Unlike some of the bidders on eBay that are buying $29K grilled cheese sandwiches and $65K haunted aluminum walking canes!
