Hi Charles, I found the owner's manual on my compressor and it is rated at 5.5 CFM. So you can see why you need a large output compressor. My compressor uses 240 volts too. Home Depot in my area rents tools and that includes air compressors. I use my old spray gun for applying primer and Primeez surfacer. The compressor handles it without any problems. Hal PS: It's Sears compressor.
