delco generator conversion to produce 12 volts

I have a delco Generator off a SW4 ( same as a H ). Delco Number 1100501 . My source for generator parts has a set of coils to convert this generator to produce 12 volts.
Has anyone done this?
Is there any problems to encounter other than the coil resistor, bulbs Ect....? What about the adjustment of the 3rd brush?
Trying to keep the original look with more voltage.
