You got THAT right! The two I've repaired contained nothing more than air when I opened them up - the oil had leaked out probably back when gas was still 29 cents. Tip: After reassembly pack the gearbox full with a good wheel bearing grease. It'll lube the gears as well as oil - and it won't leak out the bottom seal!!
