I am with Hugh on this one. We have adjusted many wide fronts, and, if I can remember right, they all required heat the first time. For me, the tie rods were always the worst part. For those, I would get a couple of pipe wrenches, a torch, and a couple of helpers. Just make sure when you turn the outer part of the tie rods you don't bend the end. Never tried the graphite, but everthing that has graphite on it around here never gets stuck again.
