Keep in mind the fact that the oil recommended by IH for an H Farmall was the most high tech oil available at that time. Great strides have been made in the years since in the quality and performance of motor oil. If the H Farmall was still being manufactured today, the recommended engine oil would most likely be a multi-weight. Something like a 10w-30, 10w-40, or 15w-40. I use 30wt. detergent in all my Farmalls, only one of them has to run during cold weather, and it is kept inside so it doesn't get exposed to extreme cold until after it is running and warmed up a bit. Nothing wrong with using multi weight oils.
