Hi, I have a 986 that is having starting troubles. When i bought the tractor (750 hrs.ago) it started pretty well unless it was hot,now its hard to get started at all and I,m guessing its time for the dreaded injector pump but before I spend the money I thought I would check timing and here are my 2 questions. First my I T manual says to remove the cover on right side of bellhousing and line up pointer with timing mark, when I removed this cover there is only a rough cut casting hole with no pointer that I can find so where else can I set the time? This is an 1981 model if that matters since they were putting some 88 series stuff in them. My second question is will will the tractor run at all with the pump 180 out? The pump was replaced about 1000 hrs before i bought it so just wondering. thaks Terry
