Thanks RN. If the shifting forks had jumped the sliders, would the shift lever not be sloppy and unable to engage all the gears?? It feels like it's sliding stuff into place normally and I can even feel the detents that keep it in position. I do not have a belt pulley gearbox on this one. If I take the plate off, will I be able to see the shifing forks through the opening to see if everythings in place? Is the "stuck in two gears" scenario one that can only happen if the lever is out of place or the forks not aligned with the gears??
