IH replacement that was cast april 25 1951.The plate is for fuel pump mounting.A rod is used in
a drilled hole behind plate,it runs off camshaft.
Fuel pumps were used in some power units and others,but it would have a serial # if it was from
those. Sometimes dealers would stamp serial # back on block,sometimes not.I dont know why but a lot of casting # were ground off.Sometimes another
casting # was stamped in the ground off area.
