I'm pretty much in agreement with you, Hugh. We had a 300 Utility that wasn't easy on gas, but the thing was nearly indestructible! During the time we had it, we didn't bale hay, we chopped it. That little beast was the "engine that could" on that hay chopper! Since it turned the PTO a bit faster than 540 at full throttle, it made the chopper swallow hay at an incredible rate. There were things about it I didn't like, but it was one tough tractor.
