When I did this last year, I was careful removing the spacer, and put the ears (for lack of a better term) on the pump in exactly the same spot. Then bolted it on to the distributor drive. It was perfect. The pump is direct drive, and exactly the same as the spacer. One word of caution, make sure when you mount your pump, that your mesh between the gears is right. I guess I don't know the exactly spec, but I set mine at the same clearance as the rest under the cover. Also, I painting my timing mark cogs white so I could assemble from the back end, but you probably won't have to do that.
