Just bought my first tractor, and I have a badly leaking seal on the pulley shaft, though the PTO shaft is fine. (I want to use the tractor for a pull-behind mower) Alas, the 'shop manual' I got from the guy that sold 'er to me doesn't have an exploded-diagram. I have the end plate off that contains the seal. The seal, however, seems to be sandwiched between two metal cups. Do I just 'tease' the outer cup loose, to get at the seal? I don't want to booger anything up. Dang, I need to get mowing!! Moreover, it doesn't seem like the seal is sufficiently 'inboard' to get the seal onto the smooth part of the shaft and off the splines. Might have been part of the problem. If there ARE a pair of cups, is it kosher to move the inboard one closer to the bearing? Thanks
