The bus's tach was driven mechanically, off a take-off in the front cover. The manifold pump used on the 66-series tractors has the tach drive built in. Inline pumps do not. We used the front cover from an 886 to simplify the conversion. It was easier to modify the 886 front cover than it was to modify the tractor.

Tractor Traction - by Chris Pratt. Our first bout with traction problems came when cultivatin with our Massey-Harris Pony. Up till then, this tractor had been running a corn grinder and pulling a trailer. It had new unfilled rear tires and no wheel weights.
