I have a Super A converted to 12V. Magneto push/pull. One wire. #2 terminal is jumped to BAT terminal, BAT terminal hooked to ammeter gauge. #1 was left unhooked, and it charged fine for years. Altenator died. Took the alternator to the shop, and dude said he doesnt know how some people make them work like that, but they do. Bob M who posted on 4/19/2004, I went to your wiring diagrams and its exactly like the "12V alternator w/mag ignition & oil pressure control drawing" but it was working without an oil pressure switch. Now that I got the rebuilt altenator on, it will charge only if I "energize" the #1 terminal. Question: How will I get it to work without running more wiring and a switch? The super A doesnt have an oil pressure switch. It worked before!!! Why not now??? Oh well, thanks to anyone who can help me. Jim.
