The draft control is a mechanism used to transfer weight from the implement to the tractor when more traction was needed to pull the implement in the hard spots of the field. Raising or lowering the draft control handle would change the amount of pull required to actuate this feature. The operator's manual for my 450 describes the mechanism being connected to the hydraulic lift that would automatically raise or lower the implement in conjucntion with the pull on the draft control cam.
