HELP!!!!! How much tractor do I need?

I am looking for enough tractor to care for a 10 acre mini-ranch w/ 3 horses. I would like to be able to move round bails and possibly stack them 2 high. I do not know diddle about tractors and I will gladly accept any advice. Looking in the classifieds there are several tractors in my price range, $4000-$6000, but I don't know how big is big enough, is gas better than diesel, is 4wd needed w/ a loader, is a loader easy to add a couple of years down the road? I do not know why, but I am interested in IH Farmall tractors so I am posting this for for all of you IH folks. Thanks in advance!
