I hear ya. I remember out processing in Okland, after going thru the process, they gave me cab fare to the airport and enough for a plane ticket and a bus ride home, I'll never forget that feeling walking out of there. I sure was glad to be out of the Army. I remember there was a huge sign there that said "Welcome Home Soldier--America is Proud of You" a guy on the airplane bought me a drink and said thanks...Funny how things were back then. I sure hope this guys kid gets along ok. War is a heck of a thing, I personally don't know if its all worth it.
