I had the same problem with my 300U and junk in the tank. All you have to do is remove the hood - need to remove the long hood pieces and the one around the gas tank. You'll have to pull the steering wheel to get the tank hood off. Then there are 4 bolts that hold the tank. Remove the bolts and unhook the fuel line and the tank will come right off the tractor.
