Jeff: Thanks for your words of warning. I siphoned the tank without dislodging anything. But your comments led me to redouble my efforts in getting the fuel bowl off with the tank in place -- and I finally made it. When the bowl came out of the tank, my "granular log jam" was broken, and now my fuel is flowing as it should.
