Well I have built many trailors, the one thing to make sure of is that every thing is true and stright. As far as a 18X7 I wouldn't I'd go with an 18X8 or 8.5, 8.5 is as wide as you can go and be legal. Why I say 8 is because you will find more things fit. Of course you could always but the one I have and finish it, never got around to that
