It doesn't need a pump. If block and radiator is some what clean. I guess this means that if you can see the water bounce up down in radiator, or it does't come flying out the minute you put a load on the tractor. I put a pump on Dads B once but after repairing it regularly (because of noise and leaks) I took the pump off about five or six years ago. Only difference I can tell is not having to fix pump.
