Dave - The 4 position light switch works fine on 12 volt conversions - I've done it many times. Both the L and H positions will be the "lights off" position; D will light the headlights dim (accomplished by reducing the voltage to the front lights) and the rear light bright; B will light all 3 lights bright. If you use the old switch install only standard tractor-type sealbeam headlights - not aftermarket halogen (55 watt or higher) lights! Reason: The halogen's higher current draw will overheat the dimmer resistor could perhaps start a fire.
