As a boy, I rember in the early 50's loading up the pickup with wheat straw bales and taking them to the brick yard where we got 25 cents per bale. The brick yard used it to place between layers of bricks in stacks for shipping. If I remember right the guy who customed bailed for us got 10 cents per bale, we raked it and with hay also cut it. Cut the hay and wheat stubble with a McD #9 pulled by an H, Grandpa drove the H and I worked the lever on the #9.
