Evan: My dad bought a new 300 in 1955 and I had that tractor until it was 35 years old and probably 20,000 hours on it. The pto drive line rattled and clunked at the seasonal disconnect for all those years and through 4 rebuilds, 3 of which were done by IH dealer. I have heard other 300 and 350 doing this. It will happen at low idle and it did it from the day the tractor was new. I know the pto unit itself has a slight whine.
