Evan: That clunk or rattle I spoke of was either in or behind the seasonal disconect. When the pto was disconected at that point it would not make the noise. On one of the rebuilds the IH dealer replaced some quite expensive parts trying to correct this. It didn't work. There were not a lot of scrap yard parts in 1960. I have heard other 300 and 350 doing this, so assumed they all do it.
