300 Utility Clutch, Torque Amplifier, PTO

My 300 is getting a much needed overhaul. I have never replaced a clutch, or done any work to the T/A, so I am a little uneasy at starting this task. I assume the clutch needs replacing due to little or no adjustment can be made. The longer the tractor runs, the harder it is to shift without grinding a gear. Also, my T/A has never worked. I can not tell a difference when the T/A lever is moved to one position to the other. Lastly, my rear PTO works, but when I shut it off during operation, I hear a whinning sound. Since many of the readers of this forum are experts at tractor repairs, can you give me some advice? Are all three of these problems related?
