I own both a Cub and an A, though the A is in the process of being restored. I also drove an A for many years on our dairy farm. The A is definitely more tractor than the Cub, particulary the Super A, with its hydraulics. However, I mow my lawn (1.5 acres approx.) with my Cub and a 5' belly mower, and it's perfect for the task. These tractors are about dead even as far as collectibility and resale value go, and I believe you'd be happy with either. Provided you take reasonable care of your tractor, the chances are better than average that you can use it for 10 years and still get your money back out of it upon resale--they're both tough, thrifty little tractors that love to work.
